The reason I need Ursan.
So I'm playing with my paragon main and wondering what should I run. Apparently, the only pve paragon build seems to be imbagon(with TNTF! + SY! and Focused Anger).
But once I hit high end pve, trouble begins. I go with imbagon into Slaver's exile dungeon. Bam! Soothing Images and Insidious Parasite landing on me again and again. Soothing alone destroys most paragon builds.
So I think about my options:
1. I can do ursan.
2. I can do ursan with fries
3. I can do mashed potatoes with a side of ursan
But no worries, I'll just go to Domain of Anguish. After several hours of waiting for a group, I enter the City. Bam! Vocal minority, Vocal minority, Vocal minority. I end up contributing nothing to the team.
How can I, as a paragon, contribute to the team in these areas? Why, by going ursan, it's the only option. Ursan, with it's pure skills, is not shutdown by these things, it does well in pve and it puts extra armor on top of an already high armor profession. Better than running paragon which can be shutdown by disabling shouts with hexes, punishing attacking with hexes, disabling adrenaline wiht hexes, blocking and miss enchants, conditions and hexes.
The choice is clear, so Anet is forcing me to ursan in those areas. At least now I can get a group.

That's what you get playing with pure healing monks which are the majority PvE monks.

No, you're being closed minded towards the situation.
I've completed most of DoA with an Imbagon, and he had no problems.
Divert Hexes Monk, send melee in to take aggro, done.
And no, this game is not forcing you to Ursan, you should just find a decent guild, look at what the area has got and structure your party so it can finish.
Or just don't do it in Hard Mode and use them anyway.

- SYgons are off!
- Well, could I have Ursan instead then of the SYgon then?
- You mean Ursan, Ursan, Ursan, Ursan, ...

I'm unable to remove my hexes, I'm bad at GW, therefore I Ursan.

Agreed. It was created for people who are too, erm, "special" to deal with things like Conditions and Hexes.
Not only that, but also monks who go with ursan are terrible. No hex removal? Lawl!

Plenty of other builds out there, especially if you don't bother with PVXWiki.
As for your problems in the elite areas, well, you can always go P/Mo or P/Me if your Monks & Mesmers aren't packing any hex removal. And, of course, when playing with humans, always ctrl-click to call out the important hexes.

Ursan is made for 'tards who've never heard of hex removal, it seems.

If you think that just because there are a few hexes in a zone, you need to run Ursan, then you are pretty dumb. There's a LOT of hex removal you can bring...just pick one and go with it, or hell, bring lots of it.

Its not Ursan's fault, the imbagon is just underpowered. WTB buff anet.

I think this thread is just a troll tbh. I mean, no one can be that bad right?
As was said, if you're too bad to ensure there is some hex removal somewhere in your party, then you and Ursan make a lovely couple, and I wish you all the best.

[[expel hexes]
[[divert hexes]
notice a pattern yet?
Also, soothing dies in like 3 hits, hardly a counter if you're [[splinter weapon|splintering] around.

It's not his fault Ursan doesn't need hex removals. There are no counters to that skill.
